The Enigma Psilocybe Cubensis strain is particularly intriguing and very potent. It creates a mycelial development that resembles a brain-like blob rather than fruiting bodies like other varieties do. The first Psilocybin Cup was held in Oakland, California, this past spring, and the winner was an Enigma-like mutant, which tested at little over 3.8% tryptamine concentration, proving that it is reportedly incredibly strong. The PSILO-Q Test kit, the first home-use quantitative psilocybin testing tool, was also used to test this strain. Findings indicate that this cultivar has a tryptamine level of considerably over 2%. Comparatively, the typical Psilocybe Cubensis mushroom has a tryptamine concentration of 0.6% to 0.8%.
The Enigma mutation was first observed in a Pe/B+ hybrid, however there are now Enigma-like mutations that have been observed in several other varieties, like Tidal Wave and Mazatepec. Our Enigma is descended from the original Pe/B+ hybrid. The Enigma magic mushroom strain is one of the more rare varieties that we offer, and it will also take significantly longer for the truffle-like blobs to form, but this extra time is compensated for by the vastly higher potency.
The physical characteristics of this variety typically consist of a thick, dense blob of mycelium that often forms a rippling pattern reminiscent of the human brain. It can take several months for Enigma blobs to form, and they increase in potency the longer they are left.
